Our residency is a robust academic program supported by world-renowned clinical faculty members. Our division’s faculty plays an active role in national and international nuclear medicine, serving as trustees and chairmen of the Board of Nuclear Medicine, officers and presidents of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, members of study sections for the National Institutes of Health and lecturers for other research bodies throughout the world.
The types of postgraduate programs we offer
The Division of Nuclear Medicine at Montefiore Einstein Radiology offers three types of accredited nuclear medicine training programs to suit individual needs, including:
- A three-year Nuclear Medicine Residency Program, available to residents who have completed one year of prerequisite training in an ACGME-approved residency program
- A two-year Nuclear Medicine Residency Program, available to residents who have achieved board eligibility or board certification in any residency program aside from radiology or nuclear medicine
- A one-year Nuclear Medicine Fellowship Program, available after achieving board eligibility or board certification in radiology

Graduate Medical Education at Montefiore Einstein
Representing one of the top 10 largest medical and surgical training programs in the country, Montefiore Health System and our Albert Einstein College of Medicine provide postgraduate clinical training to more than 1,400 residents and fellows per year. Clinicians across Montefiore Einstein’s numerous educational programs actively mentor and cultivate a new generation of healthcare leaders.
Our mission to improve access and quality of care for our diverse community draws residents and fellows from top medical, dental and PA schools from around the world. We develop and expand programs designed to advance teamwork, communication and decision-making, and our progressive focus on comprehensive care provides an ideal training ground for our residents and fellows.
To make the process of working and training at Montefiore Einstein more seamless, we offer a variety of services for our house staff, physician assistants and interns, including assistance with credentialing and orientation, institutional resources, visas, contracts, HR documents, payroll, notary services and specialty training and certifications.

Home to notable programs and our Centers of Excellence
Moses Campus, along with Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, features 726 adult inpatient beds and 106 pediatric inpatient beds. The facility also offers services to outpatients. As an NCI-Designated Cancer Center, Moses provides diagnostic and therapeutic modalities through an active theranostics program. While training at Moses, residents partake in a particularly rigorous program in oncologic and non-oncologic pediatric and adult nuclear medicine. Our Transplant Center, also on-site, affords residents the ability to evaluate organ physiology pre- and post-transplant.
I could not find a better place than Montefiore Einstein. The training is superb. Large, diverse clinical volume coupled with dedicated, empathic teachers. All this made me ready for my appointment at the UNC.

An academic hospital adjacent to our Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Our 431-bed Jack D. Weiler Hospital is located adjacent to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Morris Park section of the Bronx. While at Weiler, residents participate in independent, hands-on training, with a particular focus on emergency cases and nuclear cardiology studies overseen by an attending. Residents are also exposed to much of their on-call experience at this location.
The Nuclear Medicine Residency at Montefiore Einstein is a great place to receive comprehensive and advanced training in nuclear medicine.

Our postgraduate trainees typically live in hospital housing or off-site in nearby Riverdale, Lower Westchester or Manhattan, and have access to an unmatched diversity of experiences beyond the program itself.

Residency Application Information
We’re seeking residents who will shape the future of healthcare.
The Department of Radiology's Nuclear Medicine Residency Program accepts two residents per year. Applications are accepted exclusively through the ERAS. Candidates are ranked based on their interview, medical school transcript, Dean's Letter, United States Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE®) scores, letters of recommendation, research experience and publications in peer-reviewed journals. Montefiore Einstein sponsors J-1 and H-1B visas for international residents.
