Our robust Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) prepares board certified pediatricians to become outstanding clinical and academic pediatric intensivists. Our program fosters the skills necessary for graduates to provide exceptional patient care, conduct research that advances our field and become excellent teachers.

The Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program offers the opportunity to train in a rich clinical and academic environment with a diverse patient population. As the only children’s hospital in the Bronx, Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) offers care in all pediatric subspecialties and focuses on improving health equity and access for the communities we serve. Fellows work alongside CHAM's world-renowned faculty and outstanding trainees, whose commitments to social justice and scholarly inquiry are clear across their clinical, educational and research pursuits.
Children’s Hospital at Montefiore
Located on our Moses Campus, Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) is a premier academic children’s hospital nationally renowned for its clinical excellence, innovative research and commitment to training the next generation of pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists. Our state-of-the-art Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) occupies the top floor of CHAM and is a combined medical, surgical and cardiac unit equipped with 26 beds. All PCCU rooms allow for bedside family visits and offer views of the greater New York area through floor-to-ceiling windows.
CHAM has been responsible for so much of my growth as a physician and adult. In addition to my career achievements, my greatest life achievements have been alongside my CHAM family. I can’t imagine having such an incredible work family anywhere else.

A challenging and innovative curriculum
The didactic component of our fellowship curriculum includes a core lecture series, case conferences, journal clubs, research presentations and quality-improvement conferences. Fellows enhance their leadership and procedural skills through participating in high-fidelity simulations and hone their emergency preparation, teaching and leadership skills in weekly, low-fidelity simulations.
I chose CHAM because I could sense the great camaraderie between the division’s fellows, attendings and staff. The PCCU has the high volume and acuity to get great training in critical care, and working with the unique patient population is very rewarding

We’re seeking fellows who will shape the future of healthcare.
If you would like to apply to become a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellow at Montefiore Einstein, here’s some information to keep in mind.
- Applications should be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
- Applications will be reviewed in July and August
- Interviews will be conducted from September through November
