Neuropsychology Specialization

The Neuropsychology Specialization is well-suited for interns interested in understanding brain-behavior relationships and in working with individuals across all stages of life. Interns are responsible for all phases of outpatient neuropsychological care, including conducting intakes, report writing, conducting feedback sessions and administering, scoring, and interpreting neuropsychological test batteries. Our program’s core rotations include the Neuropsychology Assessment Service (NAS), adult/child outpatient psychiatry and research.

What to expect as an intern

The Neuropsychology Specialization intern will spend the full year at the Neuropsychology Assessment Service (NAS), where they will see two cases per week. The intern will also have the opportunity to supervise junior trainees in this setting. For their remaining direct patient care time, the intern will spend six months in the Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Department (AOPD) and/or the Child Outpatient Psychiatry Department (COPD), where they will carry at least three psychotherapy cases. The remaining six months will be spent completing other clinical electives within the Psychology Internship Training Program. The intern will also be responsible for carrying out a scholarly research project.
