Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program Virtual Tour

The Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) is committed to training the next generation of academic neonatologists. Over the course of their fellowship, trainees are provided an exceptional educational experience supported by a curriculum that emphasizes clinical excellence and encourages the pursuit of each individual’s scholarly goals. A structured educational program, committed faculty and robust clinical services help guide fellows toward successful and rewarding careers as clinicians.

The Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program offers an outstanding clinical and educational experience in a collaborative environment. During their training, fellows provide family-integrated, multidisciplinary, evidence-based healthcare to a diverse patient population.  The Montefiore Einstein community offers individualized professional development activities and numerous scholarly activities, preparing fellows with the skills and knowledge needed for successful careers in neonatal-perinatal medicine. For 2021-2022, U.S. News & World Report ranked our neonatal-perinatal program in the top 20 of all children’s hospitals in the country. 

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Jack D. Weiler Hospital, Einstein Campus

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Jack D. Weiler Hospital is a state-of-the-art level 4 Regional Perinatal Center (RPC). The unit provides family-integrated, multidisciplinary, evidence-based care to critically ill neonates with complex conditions and carries the distinction of being the only New York State-designated RPC in the Bronx.

Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellows participate in procedural training and neonatal and infant resuscitation in both the delivery room and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

We strive to balance service with education and autonomy with supervision. Our goal is to optimize fellows’ educational experiences and prepare them for successful careers in neonatology.

Fellowship Application Information

We’re seeking fellows who will shape the future of healthcare.

If you would like to apply to become a Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellow at Montefiore Einstein, here’s some information to keep in mind.

  • Interviews for selected applicants are held from the end of August through early November for positions starting in July of the next academic year. 
  • All applicants must be board eligible or certified in pediatrics as determined by the American Board of Pediatrics.
  • Foreign medical graduates must have a valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate.
  • Consult the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) for important recruitment dates, which vary from year to year. In general, applicants may begin loading application documents into the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) by July. We urge candidates to have their applications completed in ERAS by mid-August.
  • Applicants are advised to access their file frequently to ensure timely submission of all components of their application. An interview is required for applicants who will be ranked for matching.
  • Match results are released in November.
